Bill Geezy was back with a new CD and *KFAI's Roots Music Saturday" celebrated with a CD Release Party at the Acadia Cafe on Saturday, June 28! From his days performing on Garrison Keillor's A Prairie Home Companion as a member of Stoney Lonesome Bluegrass Band to the present, Bill has been compiling a large catalogue of his handcrafted, American, countrified, folk-rock songs. On the Hoffman guitar that his mother bought him for a high school graduation present Bill has penned songs that have become the stuff that dreams are made of.

Bill's songs have been:

• Been included on an album of children's songs, which also featured Suzzy Roche of the incomparable Roches.

KFAI's Pam Hill, from Tuesday morning's Pam Without Boundaries hosted this evening of evening of roots music at the Acadia Cafe on June 14.

Bernie Gibbs King and Dave Babb (from the Front Porch Swingin' Liquor Pigs) will be the featured performers at this edition of KFAI's Roots Music Night.

Bernie King performs original americana/roots music in styles that have been compared to Tom Waits, Johnny Cash, and Greg Brown. He's been called the "unholy love child of Steve Earle and Bob Dylan".

Dave Babb is songwriter, guitarist and singer with the Front Porch Swingin' Liquor Pigs. Additionally, he often plays with Steve Kaul of the Brass Kings, Baby Grant Johnson, and Jon Rodine. Dave was born angry, but life's hardscrabble lessons eventually made him embittered. The "Pope of Friday Night" has managed to channel his rage into productive ventures. Like futile vehicle repairs. And writing songs. And singing and playing his guitar.
